ADMISSION TO M.TECH: BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Please take note of the additional learning path that is available to learners who complete the university certificate and comply with the normal university requirements.  The following is an extract from a faculty management decision in the Faculty of Economic Sciences.

6.5        Admission to M Tech: Business Administration: Prof Norman Kemp

 

            That NOTE be taken of the request received from Profs Kemp and  Hennie van As as      contained in documents 11 and 12; furthermore that the following be NOTED:

 

i)          That the programme “Certificate in Executive Leadership” consisting of 6 modules on NQF level 8 has been formally approved by the ECS.

ii)          As the total number of credits for the qualification are 2 credits short of the required number of credits students will be required to pass all 6 core modules plus an acceptable module in Research Methodology on at least level 8 in order to gain access to the 100% research M Tech Business Administration.

iii)         That the Certificate in Executive Leadership, subject to (ii) above be considered as acceptable for entry to the M Tech Business Administration.

iv)         Entrance to the M Tech BA (5412) with the Certificate in Executive Leadership as entry requirement is only supported due to the rigorous assessment method and blended learning required for this qualification.

           

            RESOLVED that:

 

i)          The Certificate in Executive Leadership (consisting of 6 core modules plus a module in Research Methodology on NQF level 8) be accepted as an additional entry requirement to the 100% research M Tech Business Administration (qualification 5412).

            ii)          The Head of Department: Management and Entrepreneurship be responsible for the                    selection and approval of such applications
