WORK PROCEDURE AND GENERAL NEWS
by Hennie Van As - Thursday, 11 November 2010, 02:23 PM

Dear colleagues;

Please note that we have amended the procedures with regard to contact sessions, submission of assignments, assessment and moderation of assignments.  Facilitators of the contact sessions will not be assessing formative and summative assignments.  They will facilitate the contact sessions and assess the group assignments.

The module coordinators will assess the formative and summative assignments, which will then be submitted for moderation.  The Module coordinators are:

1.     Programme and project management: Gerrit van der Waldt gerrit.vanderwaldt@nwu.ac.za

2.     Strategic human resource management: Luni Vermeulen luni.vermeulen@nwu.ac.za

3.     Leadership for good governance: Eric Nealer eric.nealer@nwu.ac.za

4.     Financial management and budgeting: Gerhard Stoop   hgstoop@absamail.co.za

6.     Policy formulation and implementation: Werner Webb wernerw@uj.ac.za

Coordinators have been requested to ensure that course materials and additional readings (or references thereto) are posted well in advance of contact sessions as some of the attendees are based in areas where they have very limited access to resources.  We do, however, have to ensure that copyright is not breached.

Please note:

  1. Academic enquiries are to be directed to me at hennie.vanas@vodacom.co.za.

  2. Technical enquiries must be directed to Mike Assheton-Smith at mike.as@nmmu.ac.za

  3.  In all communications please state the following as it takes a lot of time to find out who we are dealing with:
    1. Initials and surname
    2. Group name
    3. Module code

You will also note that the submission dates for formative assignments have been changed.  They are now (generally) due about 1 week after the contact session.  This is to allow the coordinators to comment on the assignments in order to assit with the eventual completion of the summative assignments.
